About Finance Easy
Finance Easy exists for one reason: most personal finance advice is written as if you already understand personal finance. It's full of jargon, it assumes a comfortable salary, and it quietly judges anyone starting from a difficult place. We think that's backwards.
This site is a small library of plain-English money guides for beginners — how to make a budget, how to save money bit by bit, how to build an emergency fund, how to pay off credit card debt, and how credit scores actually work. Every guide is written to be understood on a first read, on a phone, by someone who has never taken a finance class.
How we write our guides
- Plain English first. If a technical term is unavoidable, we explain it in the same sentence.
- Real numbers, honestly labelled. Worked examples use clearly fictional readers, so you can see the maths without anyone's private finances being involved.
- No hype, no shortcuts. We don't publish get-rich-quick content, guaranteed-return claims, or “one weird trick” headlines. Money basics are unglamorous — and they work.
- Education, not advice. Our guides explain how things work in general. They can't know your situation, so they never pretend to. For decisions about your own money, a qualified professional who knows your circumstances is the right call. Read our Disclaimer for the full picture.
How the site is funded
Finance Easy is free to read. The site is intended to be supported by advertising (including Google AdSense) once approved, which is why you'll find our Privacy Policy explains how advertising cookies work. Advertising never changes what our guides say.
Where to start
If you're brand new, start with How to Make a Budget That Actually Works — everything else gets easier once you can see where your money goes. Then build your emergency fund, tackle credit card debt if you have it, and let your credit score improve as a side effect of the habits you'll already have.
